2019 European elections Saw a Spectacular Mobilization of Romanians Voters
The May 26 European Parliament Elections proved that Romanians no longer tolerate for the political power to be held by a single party and a single man. This reality was reflected by the voter turnout, both in Romania and abroad, although the vote had to do with the parliamentary representation.
It is important to note that about half of the voting-eligible population attended the elections in Romania and diaspora.
One of the Romanian Christian opinion leaders, Cristian Soimaru, went to his Facebook account and commented on the flawed organization of the elections outside the country. He said the messages he received from Romanians living outside the country form a map of sorrow. Soimaru added that Romanians voted out of despair and with hope, as they also did in 1996 and 2004.
It is worth mentioning that the choice to participate in the justice referendum showed Romanians attitude towards corruption.
Beyond the vote, through which Romanian voters sanctioned the main political force in the country, PSD- ALDE, Christians remain concerned about the freedom of speech.
